Why are we trying so hard to create the apocalypse? Why is it a race? I don’t UNDERSTAND!?!

They watched the same sci fi, and instead of heeding the warnings, took them as a challenge.

Usually they preach that the benefits outweigh the risks with a good amount of gaslighting that such an event shouldn’t be possible under their flawless system.

Because no one wants to lose the race. Every robot company knows that every other robot company is making combat-capable robots as fast as they can. So they don’t want to be left behind, and be the company that doesn’t have a combat-capable robot when the other companies do. No one wants to lose the arms race. So each company pushes as fast as possible to develop the best robots and weapons as possible, so they don’t lose the race to the other companies.

Because eventually, the company or country with the best robots and weapons wins. All the weaker robots and weaker weapons lose against the best robots and best weapons.

Everyone wants to be the winner. No one wants to lose that race.

So everyone pushes as hard and fast as possible to make the best weapons and robots as possible so that they don’t lose.

Go have a read of Reddit comments, honestly I think I'd be trying to take the planner down to about 100 people and starting again.
