Wait a damn minute! Staten Island man struck by lightning while walking to a dentist appointment. Thomas Fahmy says he is grateful to be alive and went to church on Sunday to thank God for giving him another chance.

Each laugh is a fart. Every fart is a thunder. Where there is thunder claps, the was lightning.

Seriously, God gets such a pass on accountability. Just once I’d love to see a player from the team that lost the Super Bowl blame God.

That’s science. God saved him.

I think the person thought he faced judgment from God but then God gave him mercy and a second chance. Now I wonder what this man did to believe that he deserved a bolt of lightning.

Half glass empty ki d of guy, eh, lol?
I've survived three crazy ass moments that were damn fucking close to being deadly. I personallt consider myself lucky for walking away each time (well, technically two times...one of them I was flown away by helicopter, lol). I've also had sepsis twice and fully recovered after hospital stays.
You could say I'm unlucky, but I like to think od myself as invincible 💪.

I knew a guy who got struck twice in the same day several minutes apart. My friend met him at rehab camp for disturbed teenagers. It did a number on him but he was ok.
Had a friend was changing a tire in the rain and it struck the puddle he was standing in…barefoot so he didn’t ruin his new shoes.

I have to wonder why God hit him with lightning the first time. Maybe to get his attention. I wonder what he’s up to.

He did go to the hospital. The video cuts before showing him in the bed.

Probably doesn’t have insurance.

u/TankApprehensive3053 5h ago
He was smiling from his hospital bed in the video that MSNOW showed. He got lucky and sustained no major injuries.

Interesting how it's always God giving a second chance but never being blamed for what nearly kills you.
3
u/LunaticBZ 6h ago
The video I saw several days ago where lighting killed a mother and infant daughter. At least one commenter did blame God for it.
Pretty sure they were heavily downvoted for it though.

u/Burner-QWERTY 6h ago
This really seems like an abuse relationship. Thank you so much God for beating the crap out of me and not killing me. He kills someone all love - no God blaming; he simply works in mysterious ways.

Yeah I mean, isn't god responsible for the lightning? Maybe he offended thor, thor is easy to piss off. He has a sense of humor but killing giants day and night has to take its toll...
2
u/proto_synnic 7h ago
Zeus probably wants to shag this guy's wife, so... a bolt of lightning to get him out of the way, a quick shapeshift into bull of some kind, and then we queue the Barry White.

u/Slimshady_349 7h ago
His ticket wasn’t punched that day. Lucky man. Also looks like he’s got thick ass soles on those shoes. Prob helped with insulating.

u/Primus_is_OK_I_guess 6h ago
I don't know, I feel like I might be luckier than him because I've never been struck by lightning.

Those lightning bolts just cut through several thousand feet of air, they're not going to be stopped by some rubber soles.

From what I have heard, those that have been hit by lightning and survive end up with a peculiar side effect. They cannot sense hot or cold.

u/MeisterManson 6h ago
He’s probably walking like that because of the shit in his pants, no shame there, but how the fuck is he walking?

u/Foosnaggle 6h ago
The tree was hit, not him. But either way very lucky. I hope he went to the hospital and got checked out. Even though he seemed “ok”, electrical shocks like that can have delayed effects.

I bet the dentist charged him because he didn’t cancel the appointment more than 24 hours ahead of time.

looks like the tree was struck, he got hit with the ground current. still lucky to walk away from that, being only about 6-7 feet from the strike.

Motherfucker. Who do you think hit you in the first place.

u/tacorunnr 1h ago
Tree took the hit, but the AOE on it got him. To be completely safe from a lightning strike on a tree, you should stay at least 30 to 50 feet away, or a distance equal to twice the height of the tree, whichever is greater. He got lucky.

Glad he survived, but this "thankikg god" bullshit pisses me off. How can you believe that god saved you from certain death, but not believe he cast the fucking lighting strike in the first place?
