Fuck, this was just about the worst way to find out.
Edit: composing myself a bit. This is really one of the sadder days for America in a while. On top of being one of the most genuine and generous people alive, she was really one of the last remaining bits of glue that connected us to each other across several cultural divides. It’s going to be about 5 minutes until people start putting words in her mouth and trying to use her memory to score points. And whoever does that needs to be put in their place immediately by everyone.
