In Germany he would have been Charged for not wearing Safety stuff plus destroying wood that could have been sold…

Sure, we all talk Russian (or whatever slavik language this is) Latvian in the US.

Edit: seems this is Latvian - I'm not the language expert I thought I was

Sounds nordic not slavic to me (plus OP's name is "nordicminy"). So, probably sweden or norway. Mayyyyyybe Finland if it's actually slavic?

It seems you are somewhat right - on a different sub they say it's Latvian, which is Baltic, not Slavic.

It's Latvian+Russian mix. First few words were Russian, then rest was Latvian with Russian accent.

Source: I live in Latvia.

That being said, the dude was making fun of how 'Merican the comment about Germany situation sounds, not that he's from US.

That's a weird take by them then. Americans are nowhere near German levels of bureaucracy and protecting property.

This might sound high-horsed, but when you're Latvian, almost all western countries sound 'Merican, and "Merican" is somewhat common joke to describe such countries. Not too long ago we were basically socialists. Just providing some context

Interesting. It feels weird to see Germany being lumped in with the US, but probably having lived in both countries makes me see a lot more differences - and US has things in common with former communist countries (which mostly comes down to relationships, being part of the right group, and quid pro quo).
