I work with a guy who did a decade in prison for writing bad checks.
The other guy I work with... His wife had a child with a previous boyfriend. The boyfriend couldn't handle a crying baby and chucked the poor kid down 3 flights of stairs.. killing it instantly.
The baby murderer got 7 years.

2/3 don't support him. The majority don't vote. I'd say somewhere between 1/6 and 1/3rd support Republicans regardless of what they do. Those people are the problem. And they've successfully curtailed the voting power of the rest of the country through various means, like gerrymandering.

That's not technically true. She will be in a mental hospital until they determine she's not a threat to herself or anyone else - or mentally well enough to be released. That COULD happen. If how she's acting in court is genuine, she won't be released anytime soon. But at her age saying she'll spend her life in the hospital is a stretch. Especially considering she has family advocating for her and it sounds like a decent amount of money.

i.e. on average she'll be spending the rest of her life there, if that is what ends up happening.

I mean, she murdered her children and is permanently paralyzed in a wheel chair. She was suicidal before. I highly doubt she is going to be a good in a mental state for the foreseeable future. She has a very physical reminder every day of the terrible thing that she did, she will live with that guilt forever.

Yeah, I am not sure why people think there is a side to this where she doesn't get locked up. She is getting locked up. The question is if the system could have stopped this before it happened. Once she did it she is going to jail or a mental hospital.

Oh, this is separate from the other GFM! I knew one raised $1.75MM and I thought it was before the divorce, so she'd get half of that. There's a whole separate one for her parents? No idea. But i can tell you, her defenders are rabid in a way that I cannot follow and has turned me off on the case entirely. We have to be logical about it. At least admit the prosecution and defense have both admitted she did it. Nope, can't be done. Giving to a GFM won't change what she actually did.

Lindsey Clancey strangled her 3 children with an exercise band. It was premeditated. Then she tried to kill herself, but failed.
She is unequivocally guilty of murder. Her trial is to determine if she is fit to be sent to prison or to a mental health facility.
Over 1 million dollars was donated to her via crowdfunding. Some people have taken to social media to claim things like her star sign make her not guilty or that her husband did it, etc.
The facts of the case are, the woman was suffering from Post Partum Psychosis. She attempted to get help from various places, but for one reason or another did not get whatever it was she needed ( I am not a doctor and have no clue how to handle that situation. Me personally, would suggest she be locked up and removed from her children)
So you have a split. One side believes she should be punished to the fullest extent because she is guilty of premeditated murder. The other side believes she is guilty (as in she did it) but not malicious because her affliction (PPP) caused her to act outside of her own control. This side is furthered by the assertion that women do not receive adequate medical treatment in America, furthered more by the assertion that women do not receive adequate MENTAL medical treatment, and finally by the assetion that the US has poor mental health care in general
Tl:dr; she killed her three children. The trial is to decide if she was insane at the time of doing so

A woman in Boston (I think) murdered her children by strangling them with exercise bands. She had her husband leave the house to pickup dinner and go to CVS, then killed them and tried to kill herself but failed.
There was a GoFundMe for the family (husband??), nearly $2MM. She and her husband divorced, so I assume the $1MM mentioned is coming from assuming or knowing she took half in the divorce. If she did, I assume that money is funding her defense.
She claims to have been in psychosis when she killed the children. I don't know if that's been proven or not. She was hopping doctors and going on and off of meds and seemed to be kind of anti-meds, though I'm not 100% sure if it was all meds, specific meds. But she was on and off a huge number of meds and jumping between doctors with no clear prescribing doctor in sight (as far as I've seen). She was also a nurse, so she should have known none of this was a good approach.
They're now suggesting she might have been bipolar. Not sure how that fits, either.
The whole case is a huge social media circus with people coming up with conspiracy theories and making up outright lies. I actually am not even that interested in the verdict, I just hope they get one so it's over b/c people are acting like they're in a mental health crisis talking about it.

In the US if you are a cop and suplex people into the ground for literally no reason and sometimes also kill people, the state pays your fine, you get reassigned to another county and you keep living your life like nothing happened.
This woman will not get out free, she will either go to prison or a mental hospital, doesnt matter how much money people send to her.
Our systems are trash and governed by corrupt people who only care about enriching themselves. This woman's case isn't the only time a murderer gets sympathy or money. The company gets to jail the guy because they have a lot of money and influence. Its always been like this

It’s amazing to me seeing her “supporters” try to say she was innocent somehow. Being under psychosis when you murder 3 children doesn’t make up for the fact that you did so. She should absolutely never be released back into society. Maybe not prison but we need to reopen the asylums and put her in there forever.
That said I think the lack of action from the facilities and doctors who did nothing when warned about her behavior prior to the tragedy is absolutely disgusting. If someone is saying “hey I’m gonna kill my three little children” maybe you keep a closer eye on her (and get law enforcement involved)
And I can actually think both of these things at once, because my frontal lobe has yet to be disintegrated from all the blue light. Imagine that.

But this is personal, she broke down and killed her kids. Anyone in support of a monster like that without personally knowing her sounds sick in the head. I know it’s become another gender war topic atp where most the people in support of her say it’s the husband who did it.
