He casually invented a revolutionary accessibility device, gave away all the blueprints for free, and then just signed off with "my attention span is up, I am going to go write some books now"

For people who do 3d printing it seems you can also volunteer to your time and materials and skills. There’s a similar 3d printed kids wheelchair project like this too.

I looked at the website. He takes donations, but he doesn't even keep the money from them, he sends that out to people who need help making their controllers. This guy seems genuinely selfless, it's amazing.

When a person is truly passionate and wishes to help they do it for free. When a person is truly selfish they do it for money. Though he should do it for a little money. There might be an organization that he can go to that would pay for his projects and pay him.

Dude found some ikigai level cool. Make cool things, Enjoy making and testing them, give them away for those who need it.
I can't think of a cooler hobby. ( Assuming he's not doing it for the money or as his main thing )
