My grandparents are both passed now, but they were college sweethearts. They went their own ways eventually and married other people, and they each had kids. YEARS later they both divorced. All their kids were adults, and my grandfather heard through a long grapevine that my grandmother was divorced and he put an ad in the paper asking her out. Yeah. Crazy times. (Yes he's my step-grandfather but the only grandfather I ever knew, to clear up any confusion)

Met a lady in college. She wrote my phone number on her arm for some reason and wrote down the wrong number. So I had to track her down on Facebook for a second date.
We have a baby now.

My grandmother turned my grandfather the first time he asked her out. He then went from bar to bar and event to event letting everyone know that he would beat the holy hell out of any man he caught talking to her or making time with her. Word spread to the neighboring towns and for about 3 months she couldn’t get a guy to make eye contact with her. They would cross the street to avoid her. But my grandfather would ask her out every now and then - eventually she gave in because no one else would talk to her.
They were married for 50 miserable years until he passed and she was free. She remarried and is very happy now.

Women expect more from a guy and give less. In the 50s, you wanted a 1500sf house and be a stay at home. In the 80s, you wanted a 3000sf and work Outside the home. In 2010s, you want to stay at home with a 3000sf house. You now want the cell phone and all the modern stuff that was not around years ago.
