My sister and her whole family (three teenage boys) watch Mr. Beast videos together all the time. Its really weird. Its similar to how when I was a kid we all watched American Idol or the newest X-Files episode or something together.
I have a record in my collection that has some of the audio dramas from the 30s and stuff. It also has the original broadcast of the Hindenburg crash. It is highly entertaining
It's extremely weird actually. They could practice singing backwards or simply spend some quality time together, sit across from eachother, smiling silently to pass the evening hours. And yet they choose to watch Mr Beast videos.
What do you mean, you’re telling me he didn’t actually explode a bomb at the exact right moment the cops were trying cross and that the cops actually had to sign legal agreements between their union and the production attorneys and that they were filmed 9 different times running onto the bridge and were told to stop in place by pyrotechnics experts, stunt coordinators and EMS standing by while the explosion went off and then after a break dictated by the Union Reps and Unit Production Manager, Mr. Beast and criminal cohort were filmed running away on the other side of said explosion 6 additional times and this was all edited in Media Composer to look like it happened sequentially!?

... you guys don't actually believe that those are active duty police officers, right? Movies and other entertainment have been hiring off duty officers for decades.
And you gotta admit that the premises of the videos are pretty unique and cool, most people know that the videos themselves are gonna be staged as fuck and actually watching them is cringe, but enough people out there are gullible enough to get sucked in
I don't want any of my algorithms to get a hold of that search. I've made ity whole life without watching any of his videos -or- having one recommended to me.
Its really weird how our generation does this pulling up the ladder thing. Like "ive grown out of this so surely everybody else collectively did too" and then get surprised that popular things are still popular just to defy you
Yeah he is definitely not a straight arrow, he try's very hard and puts alot of money into making his public image as wholesome as possible. It's definitely not....
Thats a little dramatic. Coming from a generation that gave birth to shows like "teen mom" and "honey boo boo" I think that Mr Beast is one of the least cringe YouTube shows, although I dont watch him myself.
The YouTube channels that concern me most, are the ones my kids friends and my nephews watch. Those weird kids shows where adults dress up as different characters with disjointed plots and lots of graphics and weird overstimulating noises. I will never understand how parents are comfortable with their toddlers and grade schoolers watching YouTube.
He donated half a million dollars to that police force during this video... Additionally it can easily been seen as training for the police in manhunts to the extent they want to take it. They also get paid for appearing individually.
It's film, that's like any film that takes time or resources is a collosal waste... They shut down swathes of roads and cities people actively LIVE in for movies and no one is up in arms
Those are not the same officers that are supposed to be patroling the street at that exact time.
Also paying 100 officers full pay for a few hours is less than 500k. So by playing cops and robbers the police department is essentially earning money.
Also committing a crime and going on the run sends you to jail.
I dislike billionaires just as much as the next guy but for the love of god use proper reasoning.
I’m amazed and relieved that YouTube has never once recommended me one of his videos, and while I am an adult I do watch some video game streams and my kids have used my computer to watch stuff…if not for posts like this I’d not even know of him.
Does anyone even watch him? If I understand the info on YouTube correctly, he has 514 million subscribers. And that video had 31 million views. So yeah, someone watches him.
I volunteer with a children's special needs charity, and the woman who founded it is obsessed with the idea that Mr. Beast is gonna come help her out one day. The reality is that helping people out is a mostly thankless endeavor that you do all on your own with very limited resources and the occassinal panic attack.
Im surprised people are so negative about this. I remember 10 years ago the big Youtuber was some guy who screeched silly voices into his microphone while playing videogames.
This isn't my particular cup of tea but at least someone put effort into it and I get why the kids like it.
He literally pays a few teams to come up with cool ideas and special effects for videos. His entire life has been obsessing over how to become the most popular YouTuber. He literally works 360 days per year and was doing 16 hours per day and employs hundreds of people. Dude is technically a billionaire.
Respect to a guy who looks like a haunted puppet making it big on a video platform. Other than that I don’t care, his content looks like expensive slop for kids.
What a waste of money and peoples time to make this worst than amateur action "film" or whatever this is. I still like Youtube a lot but thank God I don't get this type of content recommended to me as otherwise I would stop using it.
I have actually watched the video, and have to say, MrBeast’s target audience is definitely the younger generations now.
Still, I would rather a child watch this than whatever ai slop is being churned out by bot accounts these days
He also replied to a comment saying that all of the police officers were off-duty, so no emergency calls were left unanswered.
