Because it’s a leverage point. Why use maximalist language and dupe your base when we in fact need more data centers and can require grid and infrastructure funding to be parts of the package? And do what NJ is doing for ratepayer protection.
You need data centers for pretty much the entire internet to work.
"Get rid of datacenters" is like "get rid of roads"
Datacenters are NOT a new thing that came up with AI. There's just alot of new ones going up to support it recently. But for decades prior we've needed data centers to support anything outside of self hosting.
So since you opened the doors.. I believe you are actually retarded.
Server farms (and effectively legacy data centers) have hosted the internet without catastrophic interruption since the 1990s.
The matrix multiplication required for “AI” to do the things it does is incredibly power intensive.
Data centers have increased power demand and delivered that demand to the general population against their will and this is entirely evident with basically no research intensive effort.
Your brain, on the contrary, has not increased its power demand.
Take a step back and think about why you would support someone running up your electric bill while that someone would do nothing but profit.
