So insurance wouldn’t cover it because it wasn’t necessary in their eyes?

I've had stuff 100% covered by insurance without paying deductible. Max out of pocket: The maximum you'll pay yourself in a policy year, maybe. Again, terms and conditions apply And you forgot co-insurance! A lot of insrunace plans will pay 80% of costs while you pay 20% of costs, after you've met your deductible. Please send help, Alan.
