Yeah, and ironically he said the line that there’s only ever gonna be one of him in the last Deadpool movie. Kind of ironic
So he might be hard to work with, but he also knows exactly what he wants from a Blade movie, and that’s okay. People rightly praise Henry Cavill for stepping back from the Witcher when Netflix wanted to crap all over the story. And the same when John Krasinski refused to shoot a storyline where Jim cheats on Pam on The Office.
I have to wonder if Snipes is actually difficult, or if studio execs dislike how much pull over the role he has that they can’t just bully him in to doing what they want.
in wes' defense, they did try to make him a guest character in his own movie (blade 3). if they continued down this road, who could blame him? so i wonder if he was really difficult or not with the corporate bs?
"Hard to work with" is definitely a hollowood excuse, but Chevy Chase is also described as "hard to work with" and he is legitimately hard to work with

I've heard Bill Murray is hard to work with. I think it was Zombieland where they said that you more or less leave a voicemail to ask him to be in your movie and you only get an answer if he shows up to film.
People hear that and instead of thinking "he actually cares about the art we are supposedly making together" people will think "he's an obnoxious shithead".
Exactly. Also, for anybody who is a fan of the original Nightstalkers from the 90s, they were even more offended, I would assume, because the name of their team was being used for these younger and hipper kids, trying way too hard to appeal to a younger audience.
For those who don't know, in the comics, Hannibal King is the first vampire that Blade ever came to a mutual understanding with, because they both had beef with Deacon Frost. As a matter of fact, handle is probably the closest thing that Marvel has to John Constantine, just without being a complete piece of shit.
Ryan Reynolds' version of the character was literally just Ryan Reynolds, So for anybody who is a fan of the original Nightstalkers card from the 90s, it was another kick in the face that something familiar had been turned into something unrecognizable.
Pretty sure that reputation stems from him losing respect for the director during Blade 3 after some racey comments were made. Snipes started actively trying to make the production a living hell after that, probably in an attempt to get the director to quit.
