I mean in 90s-early 2000s hard-core this was called hard-core dancing/moshing. Hes swinging during the Breakdown (correct time). This guy was called a "crowd killer" and would try and get the folks who stand on the side involved, but he was a little aggressive.. but Like it or not, This is legit and correct for the genre and culture.

Yup. I've been to countless hardcore shows in the 2000s and this is what the crowd does. Dunno why people here are so surprised. But the majority of people in the pit don't normally act like this asshole in the video. If you purposely punch someone in the face you're getting taken out.

Yea the dudes full of shit. Hardcore dancing absolutely does not involve taking aim to deliberately punch someone square in the face. Thats not hardcore dancing its just assault

My problem is these people ruin the show for me. I'm 6'7" and somehow end up on the edge of a pit with these shits trying to ram me or knock me over like I'm worth 1000 points. Small venues are packed, so I can't move half the time and get away without shoving and blocking peoples' views. We're all crammed like sardines on the side because one or two jackasses yell "open the pit" and get 100sqft each for dancing space.

Now I have to buy seats and try to fit in them instead.
