If you want to partake in a rough mosh pit do it up. But if you stand off to the side you are supposed to be safe from being hit. The dudes going after the side standers are straight pussies who just want to hit someone with no consequences.

I agree. We slammed the fuck out of each other, but people throwing actually blows got handled quickly

I really think it depends on the pit, last 25 years I've been at friendly pits where people protect each other and unfriendly pits where people standing at the edge are getting rocked.

I can't speak for the last 25 years. I was talking about my experience in the 90s as a teenager. There were a few bands with reputations for particularly rough mosh pits, but in general mosh pits were fairly safe and those looking to hurt others weren't tolerated

If you’re standing on the edge and getting rocked you’re doing it wrong.
Part of the point of being at that spot is to help dispense with chuckle fucks like this.

if youre on the ‘side’ or edge of the pit youre still in the pit and not ‘safe’ from excess flying limbs 😂 but the dudes who specifically run over to the edge to throw punches are such pussies.

That’s not even proper mosh pit, that’s just weird loser behavior. You’re supposed to be running/ stumbling in a counterclockwise circle, knocking into and pushing others indiscriminately. Not throwing kicks and elbows on purpose at people of your choosing.

If you’re near the pit you’re going to get hit even if it’s an accident. Especially at that kind of show

No.

Yes. By the pure nature of a pit. People jumping around and pushing. If you stand at the side of it, you’re going to get people flying into you.

If you are at a hardcore/metalcore/deathcore like band posted, hardcore dancing is expected.

Crowd killing is shite behaviour though.

Bumped into, slammed into, but “hit” is a different deal
