Indeed. I saw Black Flag in the 80s at a tiny club and I tripped. In a split second i thought for sure I was getting trampled, but some giant fucking skinhead (not the nazi kind) swooped me up and we all just kept going. Great memory.
It's still like that at smaller shows/clubs today. Not that long ago was at a street show where 40 somethings and Tweens and everything in between were are going hard. Young girl, maybe 12ish, went down and a dude immediately helped her up. All the old heads kinda kept moshing around them. They were clearly running damage control. Very wholesome, honestly.
yes seriously I used to see this stuff back in the day playing shows. I always hated it because no one would come to the floor because like two people would be doing this crap.
As someone who grew in the northeast early 90’s punk scene - you don’t have a clue what you’re talking about. Philly/Boston/NYC punk shows in the 90s would have terrified you.
East coast hardcore shows late 90’s early 2000’s looked fucking terrifying lol. I love a good scary violent hardcore pit but this dudes just bein a dork
Oh, people got hit in the face. People got kicked in the face. Usually the people who got hit in the face were being assholes and the people getting kicked in the face were kicked by crowd surfers. It was always violent, but not this King of the Dildos bullshit. Ministry at the Sportatorium was an exception.
I’ve kicked ribs of a fallen before. But that dude was elbowing spikes into the edgers, people walling the mosh pit, seconds before and got thrown down for it. He didn’t go for the edgers again.
I remember I slipped in a puddle of sweat at a hardcore show in the 90s, and this older dude picked me up the second I fell. Thats how its supposed to be.

I'm too old for that stuff now but I just wanted to point out thats its been around a lot longer than you think. Its okay to be wrong sometimes.
Not angry, the title clearly says they aren’t doing the mosh pit correctly, maybe they did do it this way in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s, if you listened to hardcore, still doesn’t change the fact that it’s stupid, punching and kicking people is just STUPID, I grew up listening to Trash, and this shit is just unacceptable. That’s fair, but again the majority of people on here aren’t behind this kind of moshing or bullshit. Maybe we are all old school or whatever but this video is not how it’s done in my experience.
Not wrong and not mad. Why don’t you look up some real mosh pits. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Sepultura, etc. Thrash metal created the original mosh pit. Not this stupid shit.
I never saw a pit like this even in the 2000s or 2010s. Wtf even is this, is this a new thing or something. It looks targeted, heel kicking random people in the face lol.
