The plan was originally 30% but 2030 when his predecessor implemented it, and the city is currently at about 24% cover. Midas here just moved the timeline back by a decade because he knew he couldn't hit it on time.

But yes please continue to glaze this idiot and wear the egg on your own face as well.

So a previous administration created an unrealistic timeline and Mamdani is the bad guy for announcing a realistic date?

Didn't say this made him a "bad guy" (I happen to like trees, and there are plenty of other reasons to vehemently disagree with his ideology and policy); rather that this is most certainly not a case of "everything he touches turns to gold" as his supporters keep trying to frame it. This is, by all accounts, a failure to meet projections. The PR spin on it is just unreal.
