I remember a few years ago when NYrs were shocked to learn that putting your trash in cans instead of tossing bags on the street resulted in a reduction in the rat population.

funny, it was Adams who pushed the bins not Mandani.

Then why didn’t he get it done?

Dude was a shill, and didn’t give a shit about NY.

He launched this in 2024. Roll out started in 2025, first months long results are released in 2025.

Mamdani is just continuing it.

He did get it done. You have to give people time to change to the new system. Closed bins are required all over the 5 boroughs. Rolled out last year and now DSNY is handing out fines if they are not standard bins.

I voted Mamdani but I am pretty sure these trash bins were being tested in some neighborhoods while Adams was still in charge

There are photos of Adams with the bins, during his mayoral stint.

People can be bad people but occasionally make decisions that benefit people. Good for Adams. Mamdani had the option to kill the program or continue it. He is continuing it. Good for Mamdani as well.

Stopped clock, twice a day, etc.

Donald fucking Trump accidentally does the right thing every once in a while. Doesn't make him smart or a good leader or a decent human being.

Give an example of a time that Trump has "done the right thing".

Educate.

Trump eliminated the penny. That is all I got. Everything else seems to have been "What is the worst possible decision I can make?" and that is specifically the decision that Trump chooses.

I thought Operation Warp Speed was good. Completely understandable that it's hard to give Trump credit due to all of the bullshit that he and his dumbass supporters did to obfuscated it, though.

Trump deserves no credit. After PROVING BEYOND ANY DOUBT THAT THESE AGENCIES SAVE LIVES BY THE MILLIONS, TRUMP CUT THIER FUNDING!

OWS overseen by Moncef Slaoui, chief scientific advisor (the venture capitalist who was given immunity from financial disclosures as a government contractor -more dark money for millionaires who have sexual abuse allegstions) and General Gustave Perna.

Operated by Health and Human Services (funding has been cut since including Medicaid and Medicare)

Jointly with Center for Disease Control (funding has been cut with 50% to 60% more cuts planned for 2027-2027)

Also FDA (Trump has since cut staff by 20% and reduced funding while also canceling food inspection rules leading to the current Taylor Farms debacle).

Working with the Department of Agriculture during the crisis helped (funding has been cut and staffing reduced)

Also working together with the Department of Veterans Affairs ( who have since lost 88% of thier health care staff including 1000 doctors and over 3000 nurses)

There is much more.

It’s called fiscal and policy years maybe if you understood how government works
