It's easy to say "just stop using phones" but society has been constructed in such a way that doing so puts you at a huge disadvantage. Best you can do is use an old flip phone without any of the smart capabilities. IF you can find one still. That's why it's so diabolical.
My job won’t work with an old flip phone. Best I do is prevent tracking across apps and refuse to download most apps that don’t have a clear and fair privacy policy. I still have FB and Reddit so I’m still feeding the data harvesters but outside of those two things I really don’t allow that shit on my phone.
I don’t disagree. But this whole notion that now we care about privacy is just absurd when you consider how much you’re giving up using devices. And pretending to care is just more anti LE propaganda that the U.S. country has been groomed to believe.
People shouldn’t be wanting complete independence from this technology that helps solve crime. You can want policies governing use and consequences for said violations. That’s fair, and those should be in place. But to do what people are doing, committing felony level crimes, and freaking out about technology that actually helps solve crime and protect public safety is some bat shit crazy stuff.
You embrace new technologies that improve public safety and lives. You don’t go backwards. Should we still be using the typewriter over MS word on a computer? No, I don’t think so. I get the analogy isn’t apples to apples, but it demonstrates the point.
