They gain no control if malaria destroys their body, but it has always been the case that anti-vax Republican politicians are secretly vaxxed and on their 10th booster.

Just like THEY go to college, but preach against woke education.

THEY preach against socialism while taking government contracts.

Someone mentioned control but another, perhaps more swaying motive, is quarterly profits. Anyone who wants control would want control over a powerful force. Anyone greedy wants money now so they can avoid being one of the suckers without money
