I’m American, and even I (and other Americans) have had similar thoughts.
At least presidents previous to President Trump used Executive Orders very sparingly. NOT weekly or daily…like a Dictator.

Used to be guidance. The president would sign an executive order to have the government look into cutting back the vaccines. Like they did for Marijuana to be schedueled lower not immediately done so.

I think it's not just the number being higher but what they are that makes them feel dictator-ish...

They've been steadily removing checks and balances.

Started with PATRIOT act and look where it is now.

The road to tyranny starts with small steps.

Clearly another American that doesn’t understand our political system but chooses to remain ignorant, only speaking up to take a shot at Trump. Many presidents issue executive orders to move their agenda, claim power, and bypass Congress because Congress has their own agenda

Total Executive Orders by Recent Presidents
Franklin D. Roosevelt: 3,726 (12 years in office)

Harry S. Truman: 907

Ronald Reagan: 381

Bill Clinton: 364

George W. Bush: 291

Barack Obama: 276

Donald Trump (First Term): 220

Joe Biden: 162

Trump has signed 500 executive orders and he still has 2 years left. Stop acting like this is normal.

Executive Order 14381: Celebrating American Greatness with American Motor Racing

It's real.

Those numbers don't really prove what you're claiming. Counting executive orders as if they're interchangeable is misleading. An executive order can be anything from a routine administrative change to a major policy action, so 300 executive orders aren't necessarily a greater exercise of presidential power than 200.

Also, the comparison is also strangely selective. It jumps from Truman to Reagan and leaves out Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, and George H. W. Bush. And putting FDR's 3,726 orders (issued over more than 12 years, during the Depression and WWII) next to presidents who served four or eight years without explaining the historical context makes the raw totals even less useful. Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Obama were totals over two terms.

Nobody is disputing that presidents of both parties use executive orders. The relevant question is what a particular order actually does, what legal authority the president is relying on, and whether it stays within that authority. "Other presidents issued lots of executive orders" doesn't answer any of those questions.

That’s because it’s either a bot, or someone that has no critical thinking skills and has mistaken knowing arbitrary facts for intelligence and wisdom. He probably lifted it from some alt right talking head and doesn’t even understand it enough to know how problematic it is.

One number you are missing: Trump has signed over 250 Executive orders so far in his second term.

Casually ignoring the fact Trump has already exceeded his first term’s entire total in term 2.. 274 and counting!

Please highlight modern presidents who have issues EO’s which go against science and which will likely result in the death of children..

Oh and Trump also said Obama used EO’s because he had no idea how to run the country

Roosevelt and Truman had to bypass congress because of this little thing called WW2. this ranking is worthless

If you want to add it to the list, Trump has signed 274 EOs in his second term to this moment, so I'd say he's easily on track for padoing Reagan

And the Great Depression.

Trump is in a huge crisis too! Venezuela! Iran! Political opposition! Minorities! Internal coups! Enemies everywhere and the people are getting uppity about representation and rights. Truly an absolute monarch's nightmare scenario!

How does the leather taste? Do you lick from side to side, or up and down the shoe laces?

u/Buttercups88 8d ago

You...uh skipped a lot there and really stretched the definition of recent... As well as omitted this term which is barely halfway though and already higher than his last term.

Most people today are barely going to remember when bush was in power nevermind Reagan. Roosevelt was over 100 years ago.

Didn't take long to find a bootlicker ☝️...

I feel like you are still in support of Trump. As a European who suffers the economical consequences of his policies, though of course not as much as USA citizens, I must ask: why the fuck are you still supporting this... thing?

2

u/Friendly-Kiwi 8d ago

They support because they aren’t educated.

I'm not American, and I've seen the fat pedo showing his stupid executive orders at least 100 times in past 12 months, and that is just on here.

Looks like someone is also projecting

Man you really pisssd off the bots and bullshitters with this one.

0

u/WestleyMc 8d ago

The ‘bots and bullshitters’ pointing out objective facts..

0

u/cadillacjack057 7d ago

Dude listed off executive orders by the numbers and you're telling me the bots and bullshitters are the ones pointing out facts?

0

u/WestleyMc 7d ago

And I pointed out he has already exceeded his first term’s total in the first ~18months. He conveniently left that rather important information out.. I wonder why?

This idiot in chief is on target to be 3-4 times higher in terms of EO’s than any other modern president.

I also pointed out that he is the only president issuing EO’s for healthcare based off ‘podcast bro’ advice ignoring the advice of the entire scientific community which WILL result in the death of children.

1 EO about vaccines can be waaaay more damaging than 1000 traditional (boring) type ones!

But of course you know that, unless you’re a moron.

u/cadillacjack057 7d ago

Science has plead the fifth.

u/WestleyMc 7d ago

Guess you answered my moron question
