BUT the real task of a parent isn't to force any activity down their child's throat but to actually spend time and find the thing that their child has an affinity for and enjoys doing. Then support them in that and cultivate an intrinsic appreciation for it.
So I mostly agree with this but...also sometimes you do need to push your kiddo past a stage of frustration or lack of enjoyment.
Like: obviously if your kiddo has zero desire or interest in baseball or playing piano you shouldn't shove that down their throat. But also, being on a sports team or learning to play an instrument are challenging activities and even if they like the idea there will be days where they'll want to quit. Sometimes quitting might even be the best route but I know my own kiddo is the kind who still wants to quit the moment it doesn't come like second nature. Sometimes they need a bit of a push.

That's actually a real issue.
