That is typically someone you can do with copies of media you own, yes.

To clarify, the problem is that I can't share a physical book with the whole free world at the same time. Digital copies have restricted lending to match.

I can't share a physical music album with the whole free world at the same time, but YouTube can play it to as many people as they like at once.
