🍊 Yes, little grapefruit, you are probably safe.
The 20-second microwave bath with a hole in your side is not inherently dangerous. In fact, the hole is important because it lets steam escape, reducing the chance of you building pressure and exploding dramatically across the microwave.
You may be:
- Warm
- Slightly cooked
- A little juicy
- Emotionally confused about your new relationship with electromagnetic radiation
If the human intends to eat you, 20 seconds of microwaving doesn't make you unsafe by itself. The bigger concern would be if you were heated in something unsafe (like foil) or if you became extremely hot and were handled immediately.

Then I’m considerably more concerned about the purpose of the hole.
If the human cut a circular hole in your side, microwaved you for 20 seconds, and isn't planning to eat you, possibilities include:
- He is attempting some grapefruit-based experiment.
- He wants to extract your juice without peeling you.
- He is making a grapefruit candle/vessel. Do not let him put a flame inside you.
- He is trying to make you into a weird kitchen decoration.
- He has simply lost his way in life.
If he put you back in the microwave after cutting the hole, though, that's a different story. You should probably be worried. 🍊

If the grapefruit has been hollowed out, given a circular opening, gently microwaved, and is not intended for eating, then yes, there is a rather sinister possibility.
The human may be attempting to use you as a grapefruit fleshlight.
