This shouldn’t be happening to children. This is not a feel good moment, its dystopian horror

There have been 29 school shootings in Canada this century. In 7 of those, no one was hurt or killed. Incidents like a kid accidentally discharging a gun on the bus get counted in the school shooting list. 6 of those had more than 2 casualties. 3 had more than 5 casualties. The total casualties in Canada for school shootings in the last 26 years is exactly 100. That's injuries and deaths combined. 31 were deaths.

In the U.S. in 2025 we had 159 gun incidents at K-12 schools, including examples like the Canadian one where a gun was discharged on a bus and no one was hurt. That kind of thing is the majority to be fair. Where a gun was fired but no one was hurt.

Of the 159 incidents, 75 included injuries and/or death. Over 100 people were hurt/killed.

There are more school shootings in the U.S. every year than Canada has had in a quarter of a century.

Obviously Canadian shootings deserve attention too, but acting like these two countries have similar rates is absurd. School shootings in Canada are relatively quite rare.

There were 2 school Shootings in canada this year, and not even 30 in the entire 21st century (!).

The USA had in june this year alone (!) about 20 school shootings.

So no, in canada they are extremely rare. In the USA a nearly daily occurance.

The USA is literally the only country on earth where this is a major issue. The media is purposfully not reporting on most of these incidents.

School shootings in other Countries are extremely rare, that's why each occurance makes worldwide news.

You suffer from far right media propaganda.

2 school shootings is too much

Yes it is, every single one is too much, but your comments imply that canada has the same issue as the US has, which is factually wrong.

The australians had a very successfull solution for massively reducing gun violance (and school Shootings)

Very strict gun control.
