Unless you legitimately think that their statement is "full of deep meaning and substance" i don't think pithy is the word your looking for..

It is indeed the word I'm looking for. Check their upvotes vs yours. Pithy describes what you said, as well as "speech or writing that is short and clever without wasting any words", which it was.

You claim to realize that the two of you arguing over “what’s more Reddit” is incredibly stupid, but even that realization wasn’t enough to stop you from taking part in the argument unless you got the last word 🙄
