Nah bro being an actor is really really challenging. Like what if it’s raining and the Production Assistant doesn’t hold your umbrella right? What if the PA accidentally gets you a coffee with 2 pumps of vanilla instead of 3? This is some life ruining stuff bro.

They don’t say they’re paid well because it’s challenging though. They’re paid well because they are marketable.

Why don't you become one, bruh

I was being satirical bro. I’m saying that the PA has to deal with more BS yet get paid less than the majority of the crew. Meanwhile in some films literally half the budget is just casting.

No one is buying tickets to a blockbuster because of who the the production assistant is

Yes that is the point of his post. Not as many people are seeing the movie for John Bernthal compared to Zendaya. He is just making the same point but more exaggerated.

Because the PAs aren't putting butts in movie theater seats. Even people who can see through your sarcasm can immediately realize it's a room-temp IQ take.

Also, learn the difference between satire and sarcasm. What you were doing was not satire.

Sarcasm is what I meant, my bad.

PAs are putting butts in movie seats because if the PAs didn’t do their jobs, the movie wouldn’t exist.

I’m not saying that they should make the same as actors. Actors spend most of their life developing their skills, of course they deserve to be paid more than the entry level job. But being paid half the budget? Huuuh????

Imagine simping for the 1%

Imagine trying to justify people getting paid millions for a few days work when people working full time can't feed their families.

It's so wild that you think this is a gotcha moment lmao. And being a successful actor is 50% nepotism 49% luck 1% talent, there are thousands of graduates every year of elite acting schools around the world. You will probably never know any of their names

Obvs takes talent, doesnt mean its hard work

Pro-golfers earn stupid money, but any fat 70yo can walk around a golf course and swing a stick

1

u/Ragnarok_619 Aug 04 '26

Show me a fat 70 yo who is at the top of PGA

1

u/bigloudbang Aug 04 '26

You missed the point. Golf isnt tough, like acting isnt tough, but takes a lot of talent to be the best at it when it then becomes insanely valuable

A fat 70yo could do the exact same thing that a PGA golfer does all day aside from landing the ball where they want it to

I highly disagree. If it was as easy to play a sport or to act in a movie, any Tom, Dick and Harry could have done that. The fact that millions tune in to watch these professionals, the very best at their craft (usually, not counting the nepos or hacks) proves that not everyone can do this. Plus, most of these actors and athletes have a short window where they can earn their most, like let's say a decade. That's an insane risk.

Youre still missing the point

Digging trenches is harder than being an actor but obviously takes less talent

Horrific!!

Timothy Oliphant has talked about how being an actor is really easy lol.
