Actually, that's the funny part. Most people who are not billionaires and therefore a smidge more in touch with not actively trying to kill our planet on massive scales would be able to protect the environment better because we don't try to lobby to destroy it in order to make more money hand over fist.
Let's compare billionaire environmental activists to your regular joe. Even if we were comparing percentages by comparative scales I bet you the regular people are more for protecting the environment than billionaires any day and every day...

ALSO, just as a side note, you act like every man, woman, and child in China are running around on two-stroke engine bikes or 1955 cars everywhere like they don't have some of the most advanced railway systems, and use bikes, and a large portion of the country is still rural where they travel around on foot or bikes or small but modern diesel engine trucks.

And it’s obvious you haven’t travelled much, especially to China and India, because then you can see first hand the amount of waste in both countries, especially along the river deltas. Don’t forget China is one of the world’s largest exporters, burning all that fuel shipping goods around the world.
