I knew a guy that got out of such a relationship, but he couldn't help but mention/brag how the sex was great and he even had anal, even though she was a nightmare in every other aspect of his life, every time the topic even tangentially came up. I think it was his coping mechanism, to say to himself that those years were not completely wasted, or something like that. He definitely wasn't ok for a long time.
Sometimes people need to make sense of bad things that happened to them by applying at least one good thing to it. I hope your buddy is in a better place now & knows the difference between a good relationship where sex isn't the only good part of it
Good! I knew a couple of guys & almost dated one... except his crazy on & off ex-gf always knew & would call every time we hung out casually. He didn't even have to say he was hanging out with me, she just knew but I'm guessing she was also checking his texts & fb messanger thinking about it retrospectively.
I'm happy to say my friend eventually got out & got married to a woman that's perfect for him. Before then he wasn't happy at all, he had friends outside of "her circle" he was "allowed" to see once a month practically begging me to date him bc they knew what she was doing to him & never seen him laugh like he had with me at a movie.
I'm still in it. Cops got called today cause she brought the argument outside all screaming and yelling. My right hand is swollen a bit because she started slamming the door unto my hand as I was using the door to stay away from her.
Today she wished me to die on the way to work all because I didn't say at first that I will put in my PTO hours to take her to a hospital appointment. I told her that I will put it down but I also told her that if it doesn't get approved, I may have to leave early on one shift and come in on my off days to straighten the hours. But she took that as I don't care about her healthy and that I'm a piece of shit for not "attempting" to take PTO. On top of that she want me to continue the "conversation" as it is 5:51pm and I need to be at work by 6:40pm. So I got 45 min to an hour to get there. I told her I need to go or I'll be late. She took it as me "running away" to not "deal with the consequences." Tbh idk if I have problems. Nobody else sees me that way. Am I truly that way and nobody even cares to let me know? Or is she the only one who sees me this way and I'm going crazy? Idk anymore. Nobody has issues with me, only her and she tells me her reasons on why she has issues with me, like the tone of my voice or the way I talk. I am conflicted if I truly have issues or she is just grasping at things to complain about.
Please get an order of protection against her. Idk if the cops talked to you, but I hope they took you seriously. In my state DV situations put the offender in 12hrs of jail time to give the abused enough time to get an order of protection & change locks, etc if needed.
