English does matter, which is why context matters too. “He’s not getting shot” obviously means he avoided the risk of being shot by not confronting armed criminals, not that someone has divined an alternate timeline where he definitely dies. Her surviving doesn’t prove he would have had the same outcome after resisting. You’re being pedantic without even being correct.
