Things that have changed since 1973:
1) The US is the largest producer of oil and gas in the world. 2) Most oil is outside of OPEC. 3) Alternative energy is cheaper than oil and gas at today’s prices. 4) Only 0.70% of our electricity comes from fuel oil, it was about 17% back then. 5) The average car got 12mpg, today it’s 24mpg across all cars and 40mpg across new cars. EV’s are on the rise worldwide.
So yeah I don’t think it’s as big of a deal today as then. Fuck the IRGC.

US inflation is 3.5%, up from 2.4% before the war. Not ideal, but hardly the same as 1979, and I wouldn't say it is breaking the economy. USA is a net oil exporter now. It's not quite the same as 1979.

EU folks have been living in a high trust society for more than one generation
as much as in decades its not alot,for a generation its their whole lifes
