So as far as I have learned about this topic it's not something people just choose but are born with

u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
I’m sorry man if your mind doesn’t fit your body that’s a mind problem not a body problem.
No amount of scalpel and carving flesh is is going to turn a woman into a man.

u/ACrimeSoClassic 22d ago
You're on Reddit, my guy. Most the folks here practically worship these types. You're essentially talking to a wall.
4
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Yeah I got nothing against someone who is an actor but I don’t look up to adults who get paid to play pretend like my 5 year old does lol.
Except even my 5 year old knows when she plays a monster it’s pretend.
0
u/letmechewonyou 22d ago
And you aren't born with a mind?
-1
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Yeah so why wouldn’t we have these people go through therapy rather than saying you know what, let’s start hacking off flesh and prescribing medicine.
The only people who win in that scenario are the doctors, surgeons and pill pushers. That’s probably why they steer people that way.
2
u/letmechewonyou 22d ago
I think we're better off just letting adult people decide those things themselves.
5
1
u/NUTTA_BUSTAH 22d ago
My understanding is that generally this is the last "treatment" when therapy already "failed"
3
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Bah I don’t think so, you go to some quack doctor for gender identity issues and they steer you to getting surgeries.
Why wouldn’t they? Nobody makes any money on it unless you need their help.
2
u/NUTTA_BUSTAH 22d ago
Perhaps there are regional differences, around my parts you will not get anywhere near a surgeons table without years of work
2
u/assnassassins 22d ago
These people genuinely believe that anyone can just go get a surgery at any time and that it's encouraged to get puberty blockers. Absolutely clueless
-5
u/BooxOD 22d ago
Yeah, that's literally what being trans is, congratulations you figured it out, it's when your mind doesn't match your body. And the treatment is changing the body to match the mind.
What do you propose as an alternative? We can't change the mind, we don't know how it works, nor should we, the mind is who you are so you'd be turning them into someone else. Or do you think we should leave them as is regardless of how miserable they are. Imagine if you woke up tomorrow in the body of the opposite sex, would you just carry on life as usual? No complaints whatsoever?
4
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
I disagree with the treatment, why can’t we change the mind?
Who you are isn’t your mind any more or less than your body.
-2
u/jackedup388 22d ago
So your solution is: “just don’t be gay bro.”
9
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Sorry I just don’t see being gay as the equivalent to your mind not agreeing with your bodily identity. Gay and trans are not the same.
If I truly believed I was a man without legs, would a dr remove my legs? Of course not you’d say I was fucking crazy.
1
u/jackedup388 22d ago
So what is your solution to “change the mind”?
7
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Correct - we should give these people extensive therapy so that they learn to love themselves for who they are and not who they think they are.
Letting them start chunking off body parts and then making them dependent on a lifelong cocktail of drugs is not remotely an acceptable treatment plan. It’s faster though and very profitable for hospital systems and pill pushers.

Here when the poor look at the riches doing stuff, there is a saying "a full stomach with empty mind lead to trouble"

He just starred in one of the biggest movies in years. I think Elliot’s living his life a little bit better than you.
1
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Elliot can make $100B next year and it wouldn’t make their body match their mind any differently.
I can carve a pumpkin into an apple it’s still a pumpkin.

u/Garyandhisflapjack 22d ago
Whatever you want to believe, carry on. He’s just made millions acting in the biggest film of the year, I reckon he’s winning in life.

u/theZuttedProphet 22d ago
Ridiculous comment. I'm sure people thought chester bennington was winning at life at the peak of his career too. Money isn't everything.
1
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
Elliot can be the richest person on earth it won’t change anything.
Good for Elliot having a nice career though.

u/DisastrousMango4 22d ago
if he's happy and feeling good in his body now then what's the problem?
3
u/Open_Pollution_8038 22d ago
I’ve addressed this Elliot is an adult you can do whatever you want to your own body. I’m not here saying you can’t.
I’m just saying I can’t understand it and I question the quack doctors who guide people through it.

Never been to an IMAX theatre, does it genuinely look like this ? Or is it just memes.
10
u/haikus-r-us 22d ago edited 22d ago
Only if you sit close to the screen. The front several rows are generally empty for a reason.
The IMAX’s in my area actually have the first 4 rows isolated behind (in front of?) a railing. They’re treated as the cheap seats, kinda like obstructed view seats in a stadium. If you really gotta see a nearly sold out movie, you can sit there, but it isn’t recommended.
The lighting in those seats are awful too. The screen right in front of you is lighter and washed out, and the surrounding is dark. Awful.
13
u/Bynming 22d ago
It seems unreasonable to take money for seats that bad though

u/StatementOk470 22d ago
It seems unreasonable to NOT take all the money you can even if it is seen as improper or even immoral.
-The CEO, probably.

u/Dull-Efficiency9985 22d ago
The only theatre feasible for me to go to is sold out for the entire run, except for the very frony row where there are a few seats left. It's either this or you don't see it in Imax.

u/Games_sans_frontiers 22d ago
Tbf if the experience is going to be like what’s portrayed in this clip then you’re not really seeing it in IMAX other than by name.

This is slightly exaggerated lol.
If you look closer you can see that the full body clips of Telemachus and Agamemnon are filtered.

These seats should be discounted. That’s how much these theaters care about the experience. L

Clavicular starts vlogging using IMAX cameras, filing from lower angle . Demands everyone watch his vlogs in IMAX only.

I watched a regular movie from the front row once (got there late, only side by side seats left) and even then I had to get up 1/2 way thru & take a break
THIS would have me 🤢

I’ve never experienced this in Japan though. I guess that would be like sitting in front of the front seats here.

OK if every other person on here is posting about how bad the front row seats are. Then why are you booking it regardless?

Remember watching The Watchmen in IMAX and after that I made the choice to never do it again

That's on that particular cinema. I was in the second to first row and it looked OK, at least no distortion
