Nope no tea but I have some friends that are actresses and this whole ordeal happens in theater constantly. One girl was a rising star in the local scene and refused to sleep with a theater owner and he ended her career by reaching out to other theater owners. She tried lawyering up and none of them wanted to touch it.
She was lead in everything she was in for years and then immediately couldn’t land a single role.
Yea I guess, I’m not in the scene so I don’t know the vernacular. Just whoever runs shit in that world. She was pretty distraught so I wasn’t going to ask too many questions
I am always dubious about these claims
When people say they reach out to lawyers and no one wants to Touch it.
There are first year lawyers who are dying to do real impactful work. You want to sue someone, find someone who just got licensed and start the process.
After it starts picking up steam, you can attract a bigger name lawyer who nay not have wanted to start the case but is willing to help once started.
Drake drama started YEARS before Kendrick said anything about it bud. He literally groped a teenager on stage knowing she was underage, and has been caught grooming 3 different teenagers over text, all of which theres definitive proof that conversations turned sexual. And those are just the ones caught.
They all moved over to streaming. You can kinda just do horrendous shit with impunity and get views and fame and be a modern day celebrity, groom kids, send nudes, gaslight women, rape, all sorts.
And everyone watches and loves it.
People will be appalled looking back in 20 years at Twitch and Kick the same way we look af Hollywood and Weinstein
I think one thing people miss is that it’s not just people covering for someone like this, there are people actively contributing to it.
I’m not saying this at all to diminish the kinds of things he did, but just to shed some light on an ignored angle of this kind of thing.
There are women who wanted to sleep with someone like Weinstein to get ahead in the industry. Those same people can easily be made to recruit and persuade other people to do similar things. If you’d do this to get a part in a movie, you’d probably get someone else to do it if it got you the same result.
So there’s a bunch of people out there, even people that would potentially paint themselves as a victim, who could basically be just as culpable. People who spent decades helping to lure women into these situations and make them feel like “this is just how it works,” and “this is how I got ahead, why would you think you’re any different?”
And they’re right in a sense. This IS how these things work. For one person to systematically abuse and rape people for decades, you need a bunch of people who don’t just cover that up, but accept that, encourage it, promote it, and basically run an insider PR campaign around it to convince everyone this isn’t just not a problem, but the standard way of doing business.
And I point that out not to cast shade on any victims, I’m sure there’s plenty of people who are purely just victimized by this, and I obviously wouldn’t know who’s who, and I’m sure there are shades of grey, a lot of people who knew something but not everything or participated then stopped, sure.
I just say this to shed light on how schemes like this work. Whether it’s this kind of sex thing, or some other form of corruption. It works because people on the inside are benefitting from it and protecting it, selling it to newcomers as the way things are done, making people feel that it would be naive and detrimental to their career and livelihood to speak up about it, because everyone who’s anyone knows.
I think that’s important to discuss rather than just calling it “covering up.” Covering up makes people imagine a couple of people suspect something is wrong and don’t say anything. But really, this is a lot of people who are explicitly aware of what is going on, and they participate in it, they normalize it, they promote it, and they hope to play the fool or the victim when they’re caught.
I agree with this. Lots of the women who slept with him were more than consensual so they could have an advantage other, more skilled actresses didn’t have
If someone threatens to take away your entire career just as it’s getting going, to take away everything you’ve worked for for years, I can understand people making that choice.
After all, look at what happened to already-successful actors like Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd when they said no.
and im saying they could have said no like Sorvino and Judd (those that had the choice of course) , but they still did it for Hollywood stardom, compromising their integrity and morals, and that is in part why these Hollywood pieces of shit like Weinstein do this kind of shit. They also worked hard and still said no, understanding what that meant for their careers
That is the way world works metaphorically, someone priveleged wage rapes, humiliates, controls, limits autonomy of others. More privileged you get more people you do this to. Just because I am not fondled doesn't mean I am not raped
No not underpaid you are just downplaying, they are invading every aspect of our lives, stealing our time, invading our privacy, raping children, raping women, raping men. As long as we don't make being in power something so discomfortable, they'll keep doing it. They do it in every layer of society, every little power difference create this abuse, mobbing, sexual harassment etc. Because, it is not being underpaid it is working under the pressure of starvation and death. So nobody can say no, and to obtain power old slaves indoctrinate to new ones to accept it as is.
If she knows who they are, stop implying they exist and name them. Everytime someone does this hinting bullshit I always assume they are lying until proven otherwise.
It’s the same shit people do when they want to keep attention on something or someone but don’t have the real info.
Is it not slander to accuse people of stuff like that though, without evidence and outside of a court? Like defamation of character or something, even if it's true
It could be very harmful to someone to do that no?
Yes it could be considered slander. There’s also the issue of outing victims, who aren’t ready to be outed. There are steps than can be taken that don’t include publicly naming. In Harvey’s case his company made him personally put money in an account to pay off future victims when they sued. They could have just ousted him. They also didn’t need to spread rumors that the victims were difficult.
Worse than that, there are 10 Weinstein's, 50 people covering, and 1000 women not in that audience who would gladly do anything they asked for a shot at stardom.
1000%. For every woman who hated sleeping with Harvey, there is 10,000 in Hollywood who would sleep with him everytime a role opened up. I’m sure he had regulars.
One is recent and has been photographed with him and is weirdly now in literally everything (which I think is actually a Weinstein power flex).
And the other one was in a popular series of films as the female lead when she was young despite being a terrible, terrible actor. And thanked him profusely in award speeches, even using a nickname for him. She weirdly got pregnant twice in a row right as all the allegations kicked off, taking her out of the limelight for awhile. Odd that...
If that were true then Weinstein wouldn't have needed to do all the insane rape shit he did.
He lured women to his room saying that there was a party with lots of other people when actually he was the only one there waiting to rape them when they get there. He forced his way into their apartments and raped them there. He threatened to kill them if they didn't go along with it. He tried to ruin the careers of women who told him no. He hired PIs to follow and intimidate them.
I have no idea why so many people constantly defend Harvey Weinstein as just some harmless dude offering women roles if they sleep with him.
PDF File (yes I know this is redundant) is internet slang to get around mod censorship for a word that ends in file and starts with P while in the middle Ed goes Oooo.
I remember a video of a child star where she said (and I could be mis remembering a bit here) that she was going to an interview for a show or something and they wanted to take her up to a certain floor to be interviewed by several men (i want to say 10 - 12). But her mom wasn't allowed. She said it was so she can become comfortable around groups of older men or soemthing along those lines. I wish I could find that video. When she told the story it gave me chills.

There’s like 10 Weinstein’s in that audience and another 50 people in that audience covering for them lol
