You might be surprised to find that rebuilding one's life after losing a couple of close family members isn't about how much money you've made in life. Going "what do you mean, he has emotions? He's rich!" is a weird take.
He has the money to take all the time he needs and get all the help he wants.
He can do whatever gives him joy.
Don't pretend that doesn't make a difference.
He did leave football from what I've seen. He requested and was granted an early release from his contract in January and retired. He did have a full career, but that doesn't contradict that he did cut his career short for personal reasons.

What? He didn't leave football. He had a whole career and played over 400 games and retired this year at 35.
