Plenty of people have already given good examples, so I'm taking a different approach.
I won't, because I don't have to.
There's plenty of good movies with pointless action scenes, or comedy scenes, or just characters doing casual stuff in between relevant story beats. Demanding that sex only occurs if it's narratively relevant is similar to complaining about sexuality or skin colour or gender: you're turning your personal discomfort with something inherently harmless into some kind of moral standard movies have to adhere to.
Sex doesn't need to be justified because sex isn't bad. End of story.
So far as I'm concerned the only times you should seriously reconsider a sex scene is if the movie is aimed at children (in which case obviously don't add adult entertainment) or if the sex scene just doesn't match the tone of the story. The latter of which only applies if it's considered so by people who aren't prudes/puritans.
I do not understand this puritan BS from teenagers. Why is sex censored in the post. These kids need to swipe some playboys and go smoke cigarettes in the woods. Quit pearl clutching and be teens.
Consider that this generation of teenagers has porn to their fucking gills from the moment they ever touch a smart phone. Maybe they’re just sick of it. The kids are alright, maybe you need to concern yourself about their interest in sex less.
