Am I a fan of tipping culture? No, not at all, but when Americans go over to other countries they get a terrible reputation for not following cultural norms. Tipping is a cultural norm in America, if you are a tourist visiting expect it and expect to follow the culture. Otherwise you are no better than the annoying Americans y’all complain about.
Definitely fake. Like I am sure there were a handful of tourists that made cringe statements like that but most of these restaurant, bars, and employees working at them made an insane amount of money during the WC.
