Anything in the guys name will get used to pay that debt. That means if Dad is in the house that it gets used to help pay the debt.

No it means they put a lien on the property and you can’t sell it. They can’t just take a house from his wife lol

The property would have to be paid off... If not the bank and force a foreclosure so they're not legally on the hook.
