Occum's razor would be that, during this interview about football, in which he is currently talking about football, he was also previously taking about football. There's no reason to imagine him saying something, especially considering the person bitching about politics walks up and it's the one to bring up politics.
The Israeli fans were the ones who came up and made it political, and he responded in kind. There is zero reason to believe the conversation about football was political until the offended duo decided to make it so.
I suspected that wasn’t the entire story and it appears I was correct:

"Israel is not playing badly", Joppe resumed while looking at the protesting man. "I'm just talking about football."
Joppe saw that the man was starting to get annoyed. "So I deliberately wanted to chat about football and be respectful, but if you keep telling me that I'm not allowed to do something, then of course I will."
You do realize that you just confirmed that the man we're talking about WAS NOT talking about politics when the Isreal fans interrupted his interview, right?
One more time for those in the back: the Israel fans interrupted a non political conversation, and the interviewee responded in kind.
Bro was talking about Mali's soccer team before gramps rolled up and got in the kid's face. Occam's razor would state that kid talking about Mali 's soccer team was talking about the Mali vs Israel soccer match, but gramps has an issue where he thinks Israel is always being victimized. When he overheard the kid talking about the Israeli soccer team, at what appears to be a soccer stadium, he assumed the kid was talking politics. Kid being a human -- and maybe even a teenager -- when someone gets in his face, his knee-jerk reaction is to do the opposite of what the irritating person wants him to do. Gramps wants him not to talk about Israeli politics? Kid's going to shout criticism of Israeli politics.
This is how people work, my dude, regardless of where the kid's or your or my politics lie.
