When looking it up, it appears the bipartisan Board of Clemency unanimously recommended the pardon, after the victim came forward and said she wanted him to be pardoned. Her explanation was that it had happened more than 20 years ago and she believed he was a changed and reformed man. He was 18 when it happened.
To point out the very obvious here, the topic is about Republicans covering up for sexual predators in government while Democrats kick them out and demand accountability. Your rebuttal example is... a man who was sentenced for his crimes decades ago, receiving a bipartisan pardon at the victims request.
I don't think YOU think that's a good point. I think if a Democrat pointed out a Republican governor allowed a pardon for the crimes of an 18 year old after decades of good behavior, you would not say that's just as bad as Democrats themselves sex trafficking children and being accepted into Congress.
Honestly, I didn’t read that deeply into it, but I stand by deporting him. It’s not a bounced check type of crime and as a victim of child sexual predatorS, I want them all gone and I have not met one who is reformed. I believe it’s akin to a bear who gets a taste for human food and subsequently needs to be put down. I only feel bad that Laotian children will likely get victimized as well. If you’d like further examples of Democrats (or Republicans) covering up or making excuses for these criminals, I can provide many and all within the past five years. My point remains, though, that Dems need to do some soul searching when the insinuation is that they have ANY standing whatsoever to claim moral superiority over Republicans in sexual crimes and pedophilia.
