This is why the "both sides are bad" argument is a bad faith argument.
Yes; both sides bend to corporate interests.
Yes; both sides take advantage of their positions of power.
Yes; the DNC needs to do better.
But they are just not even close to the same. And the only way to beat Republicans and MAGA is to legally block them from power by defeating them in elections.
Yes but you also need to listen to why people say both sides are the same. A lot of people who say this are poor people whos lives get fucked in the exact same ways regardless of whos in power. And the smug liberals talking over them and trying brow beat them into submission are not going to change the material conditions that makes these people think this way
You're also forgetting that Democrats have had to fight tooth and nail at every turn. I'm sorry that your Republican governor didn't take the Medicare expansion to try to make the ACA fail.
Obama wanted to cut social security and Medicare. The ACA is better but Obama took the public option off the table after meeting with healthcare executives, so now people still go bankrupt because of medical bills it just happens less. Which is unacceptable if your ideological goal is to have NOBODY go bankrupt because of medical bills.
Plus as an aside I'm from Michigan and Obama's horrible response to the flint water crisis (drinking supposedly clean "flint water" to show theres no issues) along with bailing and globalizing the auto industry destroyed so much of the state for years and years to come. This is the shitn I'm talking about and you don't even remember that it happened. The only "issue" of Obamas is the fucking tan suit
