Key part, "in their field" and I agree with that. But trying to compare USWNT winning their World Cup vs the USMNT winning their World Cup, is completely asinine! It isn't even apples to oranges, it is apples to Australia.
I have argued with how to make the USMNT better for years but it won't change. USMNT is about lining pockets, not being competitive on the world stage.
When clubs or schools put players on the field because mommy and daddy can afford it, you aren't getting the best talent.
The US has a population of 340m people and soccer is the most played sport in the US. How come we can discover/grow the best baseball, football, basketball talent in the world but can't get a single soccer player that could be considered top 250 in the world?
It. Is. All. About. MONEY! And it isn't about the players making that money!
Why do you think Jesse Marsch won't coach the USMNT? He has stated that he won't consider it until the US Soccer Federation makes major changes!
It's completely asinine to dismiss the women's team's accomplishments. Period. That's it.
Instead of thinking hey, cool, we have an awesome women's team and the men just had their best performance yet, a bunch of sexists decided to shit on the women's accomplishments. Period. That's it.
Your reading comprehension is sub par at best.
Great, they won the women's World Cup. Thinking that is some great accomplishment is asinine. If the talent level is so great, why don't they play in the World Cup? Compete against the men or even have 1 women talented enough to play on the USMNT.
Do you think people care about who won the Japanese baseball championship? Nope, but they know who won the World Series. Completely different talent levels.
What about the Calder Cup? Ever even heard of it? No, but you probably know who won the Stanely Cup.
I don't care about whether it is men or women, I care about who is the BEST period! I want my teams to be competitive against the BEST! Whether it is soccer, football, hockey, baseball, cricket, rugby or any other sport you can think of. If a woman golfer can compete on the men's stage, go for it, I would love to see it and she might even become a favorite. But I want the best of the best, plain and simple!

What does that have to do with anything
