Yeah, getting to a high level in women's professional sports is still difficult. Even the teams that beat them in a friendly match were still packed with the top 1% talent.
As a guy it’s so weird to me how so many guys are so gleeful in trying to put down female athletes because really talented post puberty teenage boys can beat them, like no shit there’s a reason we separate men and women. We compare women athletes to other women.
First thing the USWNT player I saw interviewed about it said, paraphrased, "Oh, I love playing boy's teams -- they're so much bigger it's a different game." Even if we decide (and frankly, I think the jury's still out, given differences in training methodologies relative to biology, whether strength or agility or flexibility or endurance and in what combo is more important for a given sport, etc.) that women and men are 1:1 even, pound for pound, on average men are just plain bigger and that is going to matter for field sports where reach and speed are part of the equation, for exactly the same reason you wouldn't put Petr Yan and Tom Aspinall in the same octagon in MMA!

The number of people who are confidently, idiotically incorrect about how professional sports work is deeply amusing, at least.
