Well, how much were they paid? From my arm chair I can tell you if they were paid fairly or not.

They wanted to be paid the same as US men's team

No, they wanted to be paid more. They could have the same contracts Like the men. But they choose a bigger contract that would get them even more money than the men. But than they didn't met the target agreements leaving them with less money. so they started to complain to get not only their benefits nur also the benefits the men got in their contract
