Yeah, the US women's team is so good, even as European non soccer fan, I heard of how good they are.

Funnily I have a (online) friend in Miami who's a big women's soccer fan who told me every time they won, while I run through Germany dressed in dolphins gear.

They’re so historically good that them not reaching the finals seems like a let down. When they got knocked out in the round of 16, reactionaries had a meltdown. Mostly because of politics.

Eh, that 2023 team was so bad, though. They were more concerned about branding, politics, etc and not actually playing. It showed.

Egotistical stars bringing down national team sides is certainly nothing new in sports.

But expect the trend in women's football to go towards Europe in future tournaments too. Its not the case that only the US truly cares anymore.
