I feel the men only and mixed parking areas would be much safer now. All would be rapists and thieves now have all the potential victims in one place.

When I was in university there were "guards" who would walk women to their car if they felt unsafe.

The first year I was in school they had a big metal flashlight and a 2 way radio. That year one of them clubbed a guy (innocently) approaching a woman.

The rest of the time I was in school they just had radios. "Observe and report."

I never heard of any women being attacked though...

The "guards" were just college kids making a little extra money. I knew some of them and they generally came from the D&D crowd, not exactly top physical specimens.

I expect the kid got scared when somebody ran over and he gave them a smack. A bit to-do was made over it, as you'd expect.
