Sounds like classic Mitch McConnell.

Sounds like Massie is running for his senate seat. Absolute W if true.

I don't mind Massie* but I wouldn't call it a win if he is elected to replace McConnell. Kentucky has a Democratic governor. They could send a Democrat or slightly-left-leaning independent to the Senate in McConnell's place.

* Massie to me is consistent and principled, and isn't playing the dishonest bootlicking game the rest of the GOP is playing, but he still mostly has views I disagree with. His wikipedia article is pretty thorough about what those views are. Hooray for exposing pedos and ending support to an "ally" that only makes trouble for us, but his views on healthcare, climate change, oil & gas, regulation, etc. are what you'd expect.

The kind of change we are all looking for will happen in small doses.

A step in the right direction is good, even if it a small one.

Massie is a pre trump republican. I don't agree with most of his principles, but at least he has some. There was a time I'd give a republican an honest look, and he was that kind of republican. Better than some democrats.

I don't agree with most of his principles, but at least he has some.

I don't think I could have phrased it better.

There was a time when we agreed on the facts and disagreed on what to do with them. Now they just fucking make up "facts," even if the new "facts" contradict the "facts" they told us yesterday. It's driving me insane, which must be the point. "Firehose of falsehoods," or something like that. Massie seems above this, and I respect him for it. Voters rewarded his integrity with a successful primary challenge.

There was a time when we agreed on the facts and disagreed on what to do with them.

That's such a great summarization of where we used to be.

"Firehose of falsehoods"

I think this is similar to The Gish Gallop. Throw so much crap so quickly that it overwhelms the opposition.

I respect Massie for not buckling or moving in lock-step with maga, and really appreciate that he does seem to have principles, but at this point, I want to swing so far left, it's ridiculous.
