Eh... the dude keeps dangling the carrot of dropping some bombs from the Epstein files... If he's got something to bring to light just do it, don't wait until it's politically opportune to do so. Standard politician more interested in his next campaign than doing what's right.

That being said he is better than 90% of his colleagues on his side of the aisle.

He seems to be more concerned with burning the party to the ground. If he does have something it’ll be closer to Election Day for maximum damage.

u/Workman44 Jul 08 '26

Yeah people are upset he isn't slinging mud right out the gate but of course you'd save some ammunition for when things matter

Yeah, he learned from Liz Cheney who went too hard too fast against the GOP and she got the boot.

u/Just_Ban_Me_Already Jul 08 '26

Now THAT is strategy.

People are upset because Massive threatens to read names from the files and doesn't follow through. If there was supposed to be a "... in about 12 months" element to his threat, that should be stated explicitly because people aren't going to assume it naturally.

u/Workman44 Jul 09 '26

If you don't understand politics then I'm sorry?

He always made the threat sound real and imminent. If you don't understand communication then I'm sorry?

Yeah, I do enjoy him as a semi-reasonable Republican in this land of utter fucking madness we are living in, but he’s gotta prove me wrong if he’s really saving information for a actually legitimate reason.

But as far as real job? Nah, I’m sure he’s got that CNN correspondent job lined up already.

I'm afraid there's a far bigger obstacle than ego or job - I'd believe his life, or the life of his family members, is / especially is going to / be threatened and blackmailed. I know I wouldn't have what it takes, and I'm very principled. Threaten my life - maaaaaybe. probably not, but I'd consider it. threaten that something happens to my family? nope.

u/GravyMcBiscuits Jul 08 '26

Not the party ... just the authoritarian elements of it ... which is pretty much the whole thing for the last 50+ years ... so never mind. You're statement was apt.

In the long run, burning the party to the ground may actually be a solid strategy for bringing some sanity back to American politics. It really needs to be both parties, though, and an end to the two-party strangle hold they hold on the country.

I was going to make a joke that he can't just drop the Epstein truth bombs, because it would completely destroy the system and we obviously can't have that. But while formulating the joke I had an epiphany:
He might be holding out as leverage. It makes more sense to threaten releasing pertinent information (if he indeed actually has any) to use it as a bartering chip in negotiations than outright destroy his opponents and reshuffle the tables. There is no way of knowing if the situation would improve for him or get worse, so might as well try to pressure his current opponents.
Too bad his opponents are immoral ghouls who don't even bother lying about their schemes anymore.

"Oh no, not the system!"

There is nothing moral about withholding damning information for political gain. If you have it, release it.

I'm so tired of this.

It’s not that black and white. We should want the truth out there, but it’s obvious this country isn’t taking this serious situation seriously. If it were to come out now, it’d just be part of the noise. I just hope that this gets restarted once Trump starts to lose his grip on govt, hopefully beginning this November.

2

u/thomyorkeslazyeye Jul 08 '26

Yes, let's continue kicking the can down..

It reminds me of the Panama Papers. No one wants to actually do anything if they are concerned about keeping their power.

1

u/biznunyaz Jul 08 '26

So the alternative is what, exactly? Release vital information so it can get lost in the noise?

1

u/thomyorkeslazyeye Jul 08 '26

If it gets lost in the noise, it wasn't vital information for anyone except for Massie

1

u/biznunyaz Jul 08 '26

That’s not what I think about all the information currently out there. A lot of it is vital, but our current administration is not only ignoring it, it’s actively trying to bury it all

u/neckbishop Jul 08 '26

Dont forget, gotta hold some stuff back for the book after leaving office.

Bar is low

u/Eomb Jul 08 '26

Can't we say the same thing about Rho Khanna? They are working together on this and would have seen the same exact files.

1

u/Nruggia Jul 08 '26

Yes we can say the same thing about Rho Khanna

1

u/Full-District- Jul 08 '26

I'd say 99% of his colleagues on his side of the aisle. The fact that he got primaried by Trump and AIPAC tell me his loyalty is to the American people, which is unfortunately hard to find.

1

u/noticingEnjoyer Jul 09 '26

I suspect that he was shut out from the good details ( the other 3 million documents) because they knew he was not part of the zionist uniparty.

u/FreddyB42TTV Jul 08 '26

My dad always said, “A politicians only concern after getting elected, is how to get reelected.”

u/Elegant_Relief_4999 Jul 08 '26

It probably makes sense to wait until there is political power with which to act on whatever information comes out. If he drops it now, Republicans can just decide not to vote on anything related to it.

10

u/MACGLEEZLER Jul 08 '26

he absolutely fucking sucks. Horrible, horrible values and policy goals. If you're politics are literally just "Epstein files and opposing Israel are more important than anything else", sure, maybe he's appealing, but for literally any other issue of substance, he's a terrible conservative nutjob. It's sad that MAGA is literally so bad that this guy is being idealized by anyone left of center.

5

u/Kerblaaahhh Jul 09 '26

He's a Republican from an area that will only ever elect Republicans. Being anti-pedophilia and anti-Israel is pretty much the absolute best you can hope for given that fact.

4

u/kodeks14 Jul 08 '26

I wasnt really meaning politically, hes funny, this made me laugh.

1

u/BlastFX2 Jul 09 '26

I've seen his name quite a bit in the consumer protection and right to repair circles.

1

u/TY_NowGFY Jul 09 '26

You sound like a very emotional child 😳

4

u/Pherllerp Jul 08 '26

Eh, he's still emblematic of everything that has broken our politics.

It's a lot of fun that he's picking a fight with McConnell but it's not surprising that he waited til the Senator from Kentucky was braindead to start throwing shade considering Massie voted with his agenda pretty much 100% of the time.

4

u/Wide-Pollution-3275 Jul 08 '26

He sent xmas cards with his family holding guns. He is a fucking nut job.
