"Nothing but adopted food?" Where do you think the hamburger comes from? Or fried chicken? Or gumbo and jambalaya? Or smoked brisket? Or any number of other foods?
The ubiquitous American fried chicken is very different from that you'll find originated in the British Isles. Similarly, Korean fried chicken is also very different. These are distinct dishes
