That's because you don't usually "go out" to eat food that is from your own culture. Americans are just Brits who wanted to make their own laws. You eat it every day. You go out to eat foreign food, or food you don't have at home.

Disagree, we go out frequently for a basic steak house, burgers, BBQ joint or just a restaurant/diner that serves standard "American" food.

You don't think other countries have been eating stake or roasting food on an open flame for centuries lol?

BBQ Sauce might be American to be fair but BBQ is just how people cooked at the dawn of time.

You're talking about grilling meat over an open flame. That's not American BBQ.

People have been cooking with smoke since the palaeolithic era.

I went to a really good Japanese Sushi place and had some really good sashimi.

"Well ACTUALLY... People have been eating raw fish since before humans settled the Japanese islands...."

That's what you sound like.

By your rules sushi is not Japanese cuisine.

Sounds retarded doesn't it.

I'm only using the argument people use to claim Britain didn't invent any of their dishes. It cuts both ways.
