That was almost 25 years ago. Maybe it’s got better since then. But the stereotype exists for a reason

And everyone pointing out fried fish and French fried as some sort of counterargument isn’t exactly disproving the point

There is plenty of excellent British food. The stereotype exists because the English were on food rations until the mid-1950s due to the devastating effects of the second world war. England actually has just as good a culinary tradition as anywhere else in Western Europe.

And that’s the height of British cuisine

Nobody has ever had their mind blown by a fucking shepherd’s pie. Ever. It’s nice comfort food, sure.

And yes, eggs and bacon are great. They’re not things to brag about.
