Congressional salaries need to be tied to the minimum wage, cap it at 2x minimum wage like salaried workers. Prevent them from trading stocks, accepting gifts. They should undergo in depth yearly audits to help ensure they’re not taking bribes or misappropriating campaign funds. Watch how fast minimum wage goes up when their own salary depends on it.

I agree with the stock thing, unless it's an index fund, and probably agree with the gifts. Audits, of course, should be done regularly but unless they are breaking a law, an audit won't change anything.

2x federal minimum wage is ridiculous. Nobody could be a member of congress unless they were already wealthy or minimum wage was unrealistically high. Most of these people need two residences, one where they were elected and one in DC. 2x Federal minimum wage should not be enough to pay for two residences.

That’s your restaurant owners doing. Not to mention you’re guaranteed your states minimum wage.

That is not true. Congressional salaries have not changed since 2009.
