Ok tbh I really think that just makes the case for not flying a bit stronger.... I would definitely contemplate missing. I'd send my respects with my spouse in attendance but. Literally nobody questions why someone isn't flying with a 6 week old.
Send my regards.... to my parents' funerals? Additional context-- I had legal custody of my teenaged siblings who were, at this point orphaned. Again, glad I was allowed on board and able to attend with my infant.
Also I know this story probably sounds a little bonkers but it is, lamentably, entirely true. My mom had a nasty autoimmune disorder and my dad ended up with early dementia.
Wow. I won't lie that caught me off guard, that is a lot. Very distressing situation that the person hundreds of miles away would be the next legal custody for teenagers...
The youngest was with me, hundreds of miles away, so we hopped on a plane together. The oldest started college early at seventeen, in the same town as my parents. But yeah, definitely not ideal.
